"Unlocking the Power of Journaling: A Guide to Self-Discovery and Personal Growth"

Date:-16th March 2023

Dear Friend,

Hi! How are you doing? How did last week go? You know one thing, the difficult part of writing these letters is choosing a topic every week. The idea of writing a letter is quite exciting, but when it comes to choosing a topic, that gets tricky. Today I was in the same dilemma, and safely I returned to my comfort zone. I decided to write about journaling. I would try to convince you to start a journal if you haven’t yet, or if you have one, I’ll help you get more utility out of it.

If you knew me, you would call me the brand ambassador for journaling. I have spoken about journaling many times and on many platforms. I talked about it in my recent YouTube video. I have 3 episodes exclusively about journaling in my podcast show and I was invited to speak about journaling by my friend Sophia in her podcast show. While writing this to you, it feels like my staple is journaling as a content creator. After repeatedly rambling about it, what more would I have to offer? Let’s see.

When I say journal, it doesn’t mean that you sit every day and write how your day went, however, that wouldn’t hurt if you are doing it. I am essentially speaking of writing down your thoughts. An attempt to document our musings, ideas and strange feelings that hit our minds randomly. The agenda is to record these feelings, ideas or thoughts whenever we encounter such strong emotions internally. Journaling is a self-serving process. Registering such emotions allows us to understand where we are coming from and the logic our mind offers. It makes us more aware of ourselves.

Reflecting on our thoughts also gives us a second chance if we want to correct something. It will also allow you to know your true potential. You may be more intelligent or skilled than you think. Journaling helps you understand your true limits. One thing I suggest is to read your old journals. Not reading old journals is a mistake. Even people who have been writing for years make this mistake. Remember, reading is also an important part of journaling. Only if you read will you know how far you have come. Personally, it changed my life. A few years back, I used to be constantly angry and upset with myself. I started journaling randomly one day, liked the experience and was consistent with it. Gradually it made me calm and composed. Today I enjoy every aspect of being D.S.S.R.Anirudh, even the hardships. If you want to know how I have handled that phase of life.
I made a detailed YouTube video about it. Do give it a watch(Click Here). It will definitely add some value to you. Hmm !!! That’s all for this week. I’ll write to you again next week.

Yours lovingly

D.S.S.R.Anirudh
