"The Joy of the Process: Why Success is Overrated - A Reflection in a Letter"
Date:- 13 October 2022
Dear Friend,
Hello! How are you doing? How did the past week go for you? My schedule slowly started to get packed. I started reading ð the cash flow quadrant this week and will write about the book to you once I finish reading it. Do give me your recommendations as well for next week's read ð. This week, I am writing this letter to share one of the realisation I have had lately. "I think the joy of doing any work or activity is in its process; success is a result and a natural byproduct if we follow a good procedure and process."
I have been trying to build this mindset for quite a while now, but amid all the chaos of life, it slipped away from my mind. The satisfaction we get from success is short-lived. The initial pride & sense of accomplishment that we get eventually wears down as we move on to our next task. Of course, success and failure leave marks in our journey. Success brings the perks we want to enjoy & failure might get questions we would like to avoid otherwise.
However, when we move on and start up our new venture, it is again the process that we should be more focused on as it is in our control. Don't you think success is a bit overrated? First of all, results are not in our custody and even when we achieve the outcome we craved, the time we spend in its memory is quite less compared to the time we spend working on achieving our goals. The process is where most of our time and efforts go. It is better if we develop an attitude of enjoying ð working on things, the planning, the execution & the collaboration because it is where the fun is, and it is where we create memories :) Okay then, that's all for this week. I'll catch up with you next week ð; until then, stay happy ðĪŠð !! Bye ðð!!
Yours Lovingly
